Is Kohli retirement from team captaincy, an end of an era of glory and admiration ?!

Kohli announced his retirement from test captaincy after India's loss against South Africa in the 3rd and final test against at Cape Town.

Despite him being  the most successful full-time Indian captain in Tests both in terms of number of matches won and in terms of win percentage; his retirement seems to be not a high note.

Kohli took over charge as captain in 2015. Under his captaincy India won 24 series and lost only 5 which is a remarkable achievement for any captain.

His batting has been always inspirational to the youngsters however, as a captain he met criticism in patches particularly team India's defeat against Pakistan in 2017 Championship Trophy and T20 world cup.

At home India won all 11 Test series under Kohli’s stewardship, while away from home he registered India's first ever series win in Australia in 2018/19.

In his post match press conference, he admitted batting failure but refused to talk about his future plans.

Cricket fans would love to see him in action again but there might be a doubt in some minds:

"Has the era of a glory an admiration ended?"
